Brand new FLAC and MP3 downloads for SuperS Movie Music Collection, SailorStars Music Collection Vol 1, and SailorStars Music Collection Vol 2 are now available. They were ripped from the 2010 re-issues.

Downloads for the rereleased albums have been restored, except for SuperS Movie Music Collection, SailorStars Music Collection Vol1, and SailorStars Music Collection Vol2, which I will be re-ripping in both FLAC and hq MP3. The reissues have been available for five months now, which seems like a good enough lead time to encourage people to buy the CDs before putting them back up for download.

I have removed the music downloads for the musical albums, for two good reasons: 1) I only own four of these and have lower quality (112kbps or 128kbps) MP3s for the rest, and 2) You can download higher quality MP3s of all 25 albums from SeraMyu Antics and FLACs from Sailor Moon Center.

Another Studio Library music cue has been identified. The Marche Funebre (Funeral March) section of Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor is featured in the Sailor Stars scene where Iron Mouse receives an ominous phone call. (Formerly identified "Iron Mouse Swan Song" in Rattleman's audio rips.) Tip submitted by Anna.

Sailormusic.net Forums Status

The forums located on shimai-duo.com went offline at the beginning of this month when the domain apparently expired. The forums are hosted by friends, not by myself, and I don't actually know what happened. Unfortunately since the contact emails I have for the forum hosts are at shimai-duo.com and prstudios.com, which also expired on April 1, I can't contact them!

I've set up new forums at sailormusic.net/forum/.

Studio Library piece from episode 44, Queen Serenity's death scene, has been added. The name of the piece is unknown, but it is the full musical cue (not ripped from the TV broadcast).

The music files have been reorganized and are now located at sailormusic.net/music/ where they are listed by CD and then by format. MP3 and Ogg files are now available unzipped and zipped for your convenience.

MP3 and FLAC files have been removed for the 12 reissued albums. Ogg files are still available.

FLAC files have been added for Gasshou Kumikyoku, Music Fantasy, Music Fantasy S, Sailormoon SS in Paris, PGSM songs (vocal only, no karaoke), PGSM Original DJ Moon 2, and Moonlight Real Girl (listed as out of print on CD Japan and Amazon Japan but still in stock at YesAsia at the moment).

Big news! 12 core Sailor Moon CDs are being reissued in a new high fidelity format called HQCD this March. The deadline for preordering first press copies (which often contain bonus items like stickers or mini posters) is February 4, 2010. Available for preorder at CDJapan and YesAsia.

According to CDJapan, "This HQCD reissue series featur[es] 12 albums "Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon Ongaku Shu (COCX-36146)" through "Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Music Collection Vol.2 (COCX-36157)." That is, all of the seasonal and movie soundtracks (except for the Music Collection Extra Version) along with the popular vocal albums from the first two seasons. The OSTs have been out of print for years. This is an amazing opportunity to get them at a reasonable (for Japan) price of $27.54 USD.
