I've got so many favorite songs that this list is rather long! But there really are a lot of terrific Sailor Moon songs to choose from. My favorite songs are energetic, upbeat, and inspiring, but sometimes I'm in the mood for slower songs too. See the Song Index for direct download links.
Aikotoba ha Moon Prism Power Make Up! - very cute, this song exemplifies the feeling of the first season; Usagi sounds young and still new to being a sailor soldier.
Ai no Megami How To Love - you tell 'em Minako! You're the Goddess of Love, and you know what you're talking about. This is one of my two favorite Sailor Stars image songs, and it's got to be the best Venus song ever.
Ai no Senshi - after listening to this song many times in MP3 and on my Lunarock CD, I finally got to hear it in an actual episode: it was so cool and heart-pounding, I never imagined Soldier of Love could be like this! I like to play it reaaally loud on my stereo and jump around *grins*
Ai wo Shinjiteru - this and Ai no Megami How To Love were among the very first SM songs I ever heard, and they are among my all-time faves. This song starts off sounding very ethereal and then starts pounding away very energetically. Thrilling.
A More Beautiful Morning Will Come (Motto Suteki na Asa ga Kuru yo) - sung by the same woman as Sailor Stars Song, and both songs are simply tops. A inspiring song that really captures the spirit of Sailor Stars.
Carry On - how could I not list this fantastic English-dub battle song? It fully captures the feeling of the first season and the final battle against Queen Beryl.
Fire Soul Love - yow! What a hot song. Rei can rock like no one else. Makes me want to dance!
Flame Sniper - this is a powerful and charged song that shows a very confident and passionate Hino Rei.
Hottokenaiyo - Ami and Rei sing this catchy and energetic song.
I am Sailor Moon - I first heard the Peach Hips version of this, and I loved it. Then I heard the original single version by Usagi, and I loved it even more! The original has such an awesome intro.
Koibito ga Santa Claus - an original "Christmas" song by Minako, this sounds nothing like Christmas carol :-) Really cool.
La Soldier - this one gets an honorary mention because, for some odd reason, I only like it when I'm watching the SMR finale. Other times it doesn't do anything for me, but when I'm watching Neo-Queen Serenity fighting the Death Phantom... *shivers*
Luna! - this is another of the first songs I heard, and when I first downloaded it, I played it over and over and over again, it's so good.
Moonlight Densetsu - you've got to see the original opening(s) to truly appreciate this song. This is the DALI version, but Moon Lips' rendition is usually more popular. I can't really hear a difference ^_^;;
Moon Revenge - I could never understand the big hype about this song before. And then...I saw the SM R Movie ^_- I would actually recommend not listening to this until you've seen the movie. You just won't get it otherwise :-)
Morning Moon de Aimashoo - on the other hand, you don't have to wait to watch the SuperS Movie to hear this song. "Remember, MORNING MOON! Anata wo la la la la..."
My Only Love - for emotional pull, I much prefer this English-dub song, which played while the Silver Crystal was forming from the Rainbow Crystals, over the original "Mysterious Silver Crystal".
The Power of Love - this and Carry On are the best English-dub songs ever! I love it so much, I can't tell you. I truly think it's as powerful and emotional as the song it replaced, La Soldier.
"Rashiku" Ikimasho - only the absolute best-ever ending song!
Route Venus - another great Minako song.
Sailor Moon Christmas - all of the inner senshi sing this happy and holiday-themed song.
Sailor Star Song - not to be a traitor to Moonlight Densetsu, but I really love this opening the best!
Sailor Team's Theme - this just might be my #1 favorite. It expresses the feeling of the whole series, and I think it would have make a great opening, perhaps for SM S or SM SS.
Setsunakuteii - one of the few "sad" songs I like.
Someday, Somebody - the title just doesn't express how wonderful this song is. A sweet and peppy Ami-chan song that rounds out her personality.
Starlight ni Kisu Shite - maybe even better than Makoto's Stars image song.
Suki to Itte - this song is just delightful. The word "perky" comes to mind :-)
Sunshine Moonlight - another great Pretty Cast song (this and Morning Moon are their best).
Tsukini Kawatte Oshiokiyo - a fast-paced "battle" song with a terrific beat.
Tuxedo Night (or is it Tuxedo Knight? The katakana is NAITO and I've seen it written both ways)
Watashi no Hito Gingahen - yet another awesome Mars song. Different in feeling from Fire Soul Love or Flame Sniper, yet so...wow.
We Believe You - I love the way this song brings out the feeling of elemental power in Mako-chan. Definitely a battle song.
Yume o Ijimenaide (Don't Tease My Dreams) - very cute, but in a good way. It ain't easy being a sailor soldier in training, but she's giving it her best! This song has a great melody.
Yume Miru Dakeja Dame - wonderfully kawaii and uplifting. This is Usagi's first season image song, and it really expresses her personality for the entire series.
